Day 14 the morning get together was full of excitement & photos pretty much forgetting we actually had another 80 miler in front of us…and as it turned out a few lumps wid way!! I spent the morning dawdling right at the back soaking up the stunning final day’s scenery while chatting with Mark from North Wales. The morning 30 miles was pretty flat and the landscape managed farmland with Loch & River Naver dominating the valley we followed up…

The most common question asked of me in the past couple of days as everyone’s bodies start to tire is how does this compare with IRONMAN. The two really are very different, one is completed in a day, the other has been 14 days. But in short despite LEJOG now starting to take its toll on my neck, back, hamstrings, glutes, IT band etc etc…this really doesn’t compare to IRONMAN. I believe anyone with the right bike, the right gearing…

Lovely dinner out last night with some of the guys, treated myself to 10 Oz 40 day matured Scottish Beef Steak!! Hostel accomodation sharing a room with 7 blokes really is something for your teens & twenties, and having given it a second go a third was not an option, big thanks to the lovely Tina from Peak-Tours who has found me my own double with en-suite for tonight instead of Inverness YHA!! Double bed, private en-suite, plugs, tea making…

Knowing that we had a tough day even John decided today was a day to pace carefully from the start and make sure there was something for the hill! I felt so much better from the start and enjoyed the morning and trying to capture it all on film. The weather today was fab…

Today was my toughest physically & emotionally – just was wrong from the start – but think in the end more good than harm was done by the finish & I’m ok for a tough day tomorrow. The day started with an even bigger puffy eye & a pretty crap breakfast neither of which helped my mojo. B&B – two simple ingredients to business success – good bed & great breakfast – crap egg, cheap supermarket sausage & I’ve no…

It’s funny as you get tired and one day blends to another, as I try to recall 9 hours ago, where I slept and how the day started! Ah yes, Keswick! Yesterday afternoon a bee landed on my cheek & stung my face, overnight I could feel it reacting and this morning woke to a very puffy eye. Antihistamine applied it seems to have calmed or at least got no worse. Morning phaff, B&B brekkie and meeting with the troops…
